NESB Methodist Circuit

Bishop Sutton

Bishop Sutton Methodist Church is found south of Bristol in the Chew Valley, on the main A368. It is located in the village of Bishop Sutton and serves the village and others near-by. The church is part of the North East Somerset and Bath Methodist Circuit, and so members can share in a wider group of Christian activities within the circuit. Our Minister is Michelle Ireland and she can be contacted on 01761 439934.

Church Address: The Street, Bishop Sutton, Bristol, BS39 5UU

The Sunday service is held at 10am with a Holy Communion service once a month and all are welcome in the name of our Lord.
Special services are held throughout the year e.g. at Easter, Mothering Sunday, Harvest Festival and Christmas.
Coffee morning and games session is open to all Tuesday mornings at 10am.
A Sunday lunch is served monthly.

Our original chapel was built in 1778 and was visited by John Wesley in the 18th Century. Our new chapel, built in 1914, offers a warm and friendly evironment. It provides a community-based resource centre for the village.

There are many activities centred on the Methodist Church premises, including Bishop Sutton Pre-school, Women's Institute, coffee mornings, luncheon club and Brownies, etc.

The monthly magazine, distributed to most homes in the area, contains a message from Michelle Ireland, details of our services and events, preachers and flower arrangers.
